At ICDSoft Web Hosting, we have always believed in giving back to the community. On September 20, 2018, we launched our free hosting program for educational institutions. True to our tradition of not overwhelming our clients with emails and newsletters, we quietly searched our client websites for keywords indicating they were schools, kindergartens, universities, academies, or similar organizations. We then contacted only those clients to let them know we had marked their accounts eligible for the free hosting service.
However, just recently, during a routine daily check of our bank transactions, we noticed a payment from a school in Portugal. Their website contained the word "school" in Portuguese — a keyword we hadn't included in our original search back in 2018. As a result, we missed them.
They've been our client since 2014 and have paid EUR 852.12 since the free hosting program started. Naturally, we immediately contacted them to let them know we'd be refunding this amount and that they wouldn't need to pay for hosting as long as they remained our client.
This incident made us realize that we might miss other educational institutions. That's why, for the first time, we'll make a broad exception and inform all our clients about the program.
If you're running a website for a school, kindergarten, university, or educational nonprofit — even if it's not apparent from your domain name — you may be eligible for free hosting with us.
We're proud to support educational institutions worldwide by hosting their websites at no cost, and we'll continue to do so with the same attention to detail and care we've always upheld.
If you are in contact with an educational institution, you can do a good deed by informing the people responsible for its online presence that there's a place where they can move their website for free. Sharing this information could help them save money and redirect them toward other critical educational needs.
